Rice to the Rescue!

The USA Rice Federation is seeking your tastiest, most-innovative, easy-to-prepare rice recipes for the seventh annual “Rice to the Rescue” contest!

One amateur cook will be awarded a $5,000 cash prize and a 9-piece set of All-Clad® cookware (retail value $539.99). In addition to the grand-prize award, five finalists will earn $1,000 each, along with an All-Clad® stainless 2-quart rice pot (retail value $99.99) and 14-inch open stir fry (retail value $149.99). Again this year, there will be a $1,000 cash prize plus cookware for the "Best Whole Grain Recipe."

Only original and unpublished rice recipes – including appetizers, soups, salads, side dishes, main dishes, or desserts are eligible for the contest. Food professionals will judge entries based on taste, ease of preparation, appearance, and creativity. Recipes must be prepared in 30 minutes or less with no more than six ingredients (excluding butter, margarine, cooking oil, water, salt, and ground black pepper), and must use at least one cup of uncooked American-grown rice (or three cups of cooked rice).

The contest is open to adults 18 years and older who are residents of the United States. Food professionals, including chefs, food writers, food home economists, dietitians, and food educators, as well as employees/members of the rice industry or USA Rice Federation are not eligible to compete.
