The Rice Leadership Development Program’s Class of 2016-18 graduated from the prestigious program during a special ceremony at the USA Rice Federation’s 2018 Government Affairs Conference yesterday. Full story

Members of the 2018/20 Rice Leadership Development Program class were announced Monday during the annual Rice Awards Luncheon at the 2017 USA Rice Outlook Conference. The class is comprised of five rice producers and two industry-related professionals selected by a committee of agribusiness leaders. Full story

Earlier this month, the 2017 International Rice Leadership Class visited several rice production operations, processing facilities, and public and private research stations in Nicaragua and Colombia. Full story

Late last month, the 2016/18 Rice Leadership Development Class completed Session Three of the program, a comprehensive tour of California's Central Valley rice country, including an overview of rice marketing and production practices, crop diversity, conservation and environmental issues, as well as a close look at rice harvest. Dr. Steve Linscombe recently retired from the Louisiana State University Rice Research Center after 35 years of service but he’s certainly not retiring from the U.S. rice industry because, as of October 1, Steve is the new director of The Rice Foundation. Full story

Rice producers and other industry-related professionals who are interested and meet the eligibility requirements are encouraged to complete the application process for the 2018 Rice Leadership Development program by October 7. The next class will be announced in December at the USA Rice Outlook Conference in San Antonio, Texas. Full story
