MEXICO CITY -- (March 13) USA Rice Federation recently conducted a series of rice seminars and student cooking contests at several culinary schools to assist foodservice professionals in using U.S.-grown rice to create affordable, nutritious menu items. "We thank USA Rice for conducting these events which enhance our students' creativity and knowledge,"said Chef Arturo Figueroa Moreno, of the CEDVA Culinary Institute in Naucalpan. "Prior to these events we were not aware of the great potential of rice in foodservice as well as the cost savings it presents. We encourage our students to use the lessons learned at this activity as well as maintaining close contact with USA Rice through their website, Facebook, use their cookbooks, and other means."
The Mexican foodservice industry is a key target audience for USA Rice's promotions.
