Rice is the perfect foundation for today's healthier eating. At approximately 10 cents per half-cup serving, rice is economical, easy to prepare andpairs well with other healthy foods such as vegetables, meat, seafood and soy foods for a delicious and nutritious meal!

The U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans and MyPyramid recommend 6 one-ounce grain servings per day — three of those servings should be whole grains (brown rice is a 100% whole grain) and the rest of the servings should be enriched or whole grains.
