USA Rice Initiates Sampling Campaign at Japanese Cooking School
The sampling packageTOKYO -- The USA Rice Federation has developed a sampling campaign for U.S. medium-grain rice in cooperation with the popular ABC Cooking Studio.  Each of the estimated 15,000 students enrolled during the course of the campaign will receive a 150 gram (5.29 oz.) package of U.S. medium-grain rice.  The package comes with a recipe card for rice salad, a dish that is not yet well-known in Japan.  Organizers hope the festive dish will prompt the students to make it for a party.

ABC Cooking Studio is designed for non-professional chefs who hope to expand their cooking capabilities.  The campaign started yesterday and will run for several months.  Its kick-off coincides with the start of the Japanese party season.

This is the latest effort by USA Rice to demonstrate the unique characteristics and versatility of U.S. medium-grain rice.  USA Rice conducts similar campaigns around the world to promote U.S.-grown rice.
