USA Rice Hosts Workshop in London
chefsLONDON -- The USA Rice Federation organized a workshop/seminar with Butlins, part of the largest independent leisure group in Europe.  The seminar, attended by approximately 20 chefs, was held at the Butlins hotel complex on the south coast of England.

Dean Snee, a consultant chef who has more than 25 years experience in the industry, prepared and demonstrated six dishes, including pumpkin risotto and chilli con carne, using American long-grain rice.  A special recipe booklet was created and distributed to the participating chefs along with copies of other USA Rice recipe books.  Throughout the day, Snee emphasized the versatility, consistency and safety of U.S. long-grain rice and spoke about cooking, reheating and freezing U.S. rice in a professional kitchen.

Butlins caters for nearly 9,000 people every day and has rice on its menu six days a week.  Similar seminars are planned next year.
