ARLINGTON, VA – USA Rice was highlighted as a resource to help restaurants bring out the best of menu items in a feature article entitled
“Promoting the Positive” in Flavor & The Menu. The article described USA Rice and other commodity boards as important and credible resources and gave examples of information they provide to foodservice operators.
The “All-American Rice” feature cited recent USA Rice consumer focus group data to emphasize the notion of restaurants serving locally-sourced and healthful ingredients, like U.S.-grown rice, to meet the demands of today’s consumer.
With a circulation of more than 25,000, Flavor & The Menu is an industry periodical that targets those having influence over menu-development decisions within all segments of the foodservice industry.
“It’s great for U.S.-grown rice to receive this kind of recognition,” said John Hasbrook, chair of the USA Rice Foodservice Subcommittee. “Nearly eighty-nine percent of the magazine’s readership is involved in restaurant purchasing decisions, so getting this group to think about U.S.-grown rice and informing them of USA Rice as a helpful source of trend and culinary information is a great way to keep rice top of mind.”
