ARLINGTON, VA – USA Rice recently welcomed four new members, three to the USA Rice Millers’ Association (RMA), and one to the USA Rice Merchants’ Association.

The new Merchant member is Consolidated Grain and Barge Company, also known as CGB Enterprises Inc.  Founded in 1969, CGB provides an array of services for grain, transportation, and risk management industries.

“CGB is a global company with more than 100 locations,” said Ryan Carwell, chair of the USA Rice Merchants’ Association.  “The Merchants are excited to have them join our ranks, and we look forward to their input.”

Of the three new RMA associate members, two are based in Missouri, Global Gateway Logistics in Saint Louis, and Inland Cape Rice Company in Cape Girardeau; and one in the UK, S&P Global Platts.

Global Gateway Logistics is an international freight forwarder offering ocean, air, and ground transportation; and Inland Cape Rice is a family farm that produces and packages conventional long grain and medium grain as well as specialty aromatic varieties.  S&P Global Platts provides global rice price assessments and global rice market news from their office in London.

“It’s a great benefit that these new RMA members represent different aspects of the rice industry, from transportation, to production, to rice market news,” said RMA Chair Keith Glover.  “The scope of experience and expertise they bring to the table is an asset for the RMA.”
