RMA Presents Distinguished Service Award to Frank and Charles Godchaux

WAILEA, MAUI, HI, July 8, 2005 — USA Rice Millers’ Association (RMA) Chairman Gary Boddicker named the Association’s Distinguished Service Award recipients — Frank A. Godchaux III and Charles R. Godchaux — at the RMA convention here June 29.

“Their respective contributions to our industry as well as their individual service to the Rice Millers’ Association and the USA Rice Council make both Frank and Charles worthy recipients of this award," Boddicker said. "From the Louisiana State Rice Milling Company in the 1950s to Riviana Foods, the Godchaux legacy is one we are proud to honor with the highest award bestowed by RMA."

“This is not an annual award,” Boddicker said, “it is bestowed only when the board of directors determines this very special honor is merited by extraordinary contributors to the rice milling industry.” Dr. Robert Satake and Stanley Kaplan were previous recipients.

Riviana Chairman Joseph Hafner accepted the award on behalf of the Godchauxs.
