Carroll Takes USA Rice Federation National Rice Month Scholarship for Arkansas
ARLINGTON, VA, December 4, 2006 — The 2006 National Rice Month Scholarship winner for Arkansas is Jill Carroll, 16, of Moro, the USA Rice Federation announced on Dec. 4. “Jill is an outstanding ambassador for the Arkansas rice industry,” said Chuck Wilson, director of Arkansas Field Services for USA Rice. “We are pleased to present her with a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of her promotional activities in September.” To vie for a scholarship, eligible high school juniors and seniors in rice-growing communities must run a promotion during September National Rice Month with U.S.-grown rice as the central theme. Carroll was also recently named the 2007 Miss Arkansas Rice.
