USA Rice Federation to Conduct Farm Bill Educational Meetings in California This Week
ARLINGTON, VA, June 23, 2008 — Contact: Reece Langley, (703) 839-5297 USA Rice Federation, in conjunction with the California Rice Commission, will provide industry members with an overview and explanation of the key provisions of the Food, Conservation and Energy Act of 2008 (2008 Farm Bill) at two meetings to be held in California on Thursday, June 26. The meetings will allow rice producers, landowners, other industry members and allied businesses to get answers to questions they have about the new farm bill and rice-specific provisions. The first meeting will be held from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. at the Best Western Bonanza Inn, 1001 Clark Avenue, Yuba City, CA. A second meeting will take place at Maxwell Inn, 81 Oak Street, Maxwell, CA, from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. All rice industry members and others involved in agriculture are encouraged to attend one of these meetings. — 30 — The USA Rice Federation is the global advocate for all segments of the U.S. rice industry with a mission to promote and protect the interests of producers, millers, merchants and allied businesses. |
