Close structures to capture and retain rainfall for waterfowl and wading birds to improve habitat continuity
When flooded to shallow depths during fall and winter, agricultural fields provide habitat for myriad species of waterfowl and wading birds. The flooded conditions promote a network or continuity of habitat that is available to migratory waterfowl, shorebirds, and wading birds.
