ARLINGTON, VA -- Two new foodservice resources are now available for USA Rice members to access and download at thinkrice.com.  The Rice Takeout and Delivery Guide and The Leftover Rice Menuing Guide were designed to help start or enhance an operation’s off-premise dining program.  Both guides are extensive learning tools for restaurant owners and operators that provide up-to-date foodservice data, rice best practices, recipe inspiration, and more.

The Leftover Rice Menuing Guide shows what a difference maker leftover rice can be as an ingredient.  The helpful guide demonstrates how and why to safely use leftover U.S.-grown rice to increase profits and reduce food waste, while still delivering optimal dining experiences.  The menuing guide is available to view and download as a movie, slideshow, or PDF.

The USA Rice Takeout and Delivery Guide provides foodservice operators with a comprehensive guide to start or enhance their off-premise dining program.  The eight-page document consists of a range of topics with the goal of maximizing an operation’s menu for takeout and delivery including how to incorporate grain bowls on a menu, information on proper to-go packaging, payment options, why U.S.-grown rice can help with a delivery program, and a list of U.S.-grown rice to-go concepts.  The Takeout and Delivery Guide is available to download as a PDF or in print by request.

“Both guides were designed exclusively for foodservice operators looking to upgrade their takeout program and maximize profit by using U.S.-grown rice,” said USA Rice Foodservice Subcommittee Chair John Hasbrook.  “These resources share simple steps or best practices to maximizes rice’s potential and help the bottom line by positioning U.S.-grown rice as a way to address some of the issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The teaching documents were originally part of COVID-19 digital resources linked to the Rice to the Rescue program that provided relief to the foodservice sector impacted by COVID-19.  Go here for more information on Rice to the Rescue.
