OTTAWA, CANADA -- The pandemic has shifted consumer focus from dining out to in-home dining and a willingness for home cooks to try new recipes and experiment with more “exotic” ingredients.  USA Rice is helping consumers here take their taste buds on a trip around the world by sharing globally inspired dishes made with different varieties of U.S.-grown rice.

“Through our influencer and social media campaigns and on the USA Rice Canada website, consumers are learning how to take an ingredient they know and trust – U.S. rice – and create international dishes,” said Asiha Grigsby, USA Rice director of international promotion.  “For example, the recipe for a traditional Indian dish, muthiya with mango chutney, was shared across our social media platforms in November to coincide with for Diwali, a popular Indian celebration.  The post garnered more than 27,500 impressions to date.”

Other recipes focus on the versatility of rice by highlighting different meal occasions, including  Eight Treasure Congee, Mexican Skillet Rice, Moroccan Chickpea Stew, and gluten-free Japanese Meatballs.

USA Rice Canada also partnered with @the.cake.mama, a popular baker and family influencer known for her mouthwatering vegan recipes.  The Cake Mama created arroz con leche rice croutons, a Spanish twist on the classic rice crouton recipe, as inspiration for a way to jazz up leftover rice.  Her social media content garnered more than 184,300 impressions.

“The latest USA Rice Canada social influencer campaigns have helped our audience discover exciting new flavors with dishes from more than ten different countries,” said Grigsby.  “With so many rice varieties and recipes available, adventurous consumers can travel around the culinary world from their very own kitchen.
