Episode 42, available now.
“Mexico is so important to us as an industry, we were fortunate Asiha could take time out of her schedule to give us a look under the hood,” said Michael Klein, vice president of communications and domestic promotion for USA Rice and podcast co-host. “She dispelled some misconceptions, talked about opportunities for us, threats we face, and shared a few of the exciting promotions she and her team are working on there.”
Grigsby also provided a snapshot of the typical Mexican consumer and what they think about rice, when they eat it, and how USA Rice is working to grow the market.
“I was aware rice is in more of a supporting role in Mexican cuisine, but the approach USA Rice is taking to elevate rice to headliner status is exciting,” Klein said.
Somehow Klein and co-host Lesley Dixon got onto the topic of Japanese mascots that are ubiquitous, sometimes bizarre, but always entertaining.
