ARLINGTON, VA – USA Rice recently welcomed two members as Enterprise Partners, the organization’s newest membership category.

Cibus, an agricultural biotechnology company, signed up with USA Rice as an Allied Business.  The San Diego-based company is pioneering a new era in gene editing without the use of transgenes or foreign DNA, and is committed to helping farmers tackle challenges presented by the environment such as disease, weeds, and pests in a more sustainable way with less chemicals, fuel, and manpower.

UPL joined under the Enterprise Partnership’s Farm Inputs category as a manufacturer and distribution partner of rice production necessities.  In rice, UPL is the primary registrant of propanil-based herbicides.  The company also offers an integrated portfolio of both patented and post-patent agricultural solutions for various arable and specialty crops, including biological, crop protection, seed treatment and post-harvest solutions covering the entire crop value chain.

“We’re happy to see businesses taking advantage of the Enterprise Partner membership category as a way to maximize their effectiveness while at the same time strengthening our industry,” said Kirk Satterfield, Mississippi rice farmer and chair of USA Rice.  “The more voices we have telling the U.S. rice story, the more impactful we become.”
