MEMPHIS, TN – The 72nd annual Mid-South Farm and Gin Show is in the books, and it was a good one with more than 300 exhibitors filling every corner of the Renasant Convention Center here.
The event showcases the latest agriculture technologies, equipment, and services relevant to farming industries in the region, and provides a platform for farmers, industry professionals, and exhibitors to come together, exchange information, and explore new developments in agriculture.
USA Rice has had a consistent Gin Show presence for well over a decade, this year exhibiting between Arkansas Rice and Delta Rice Promotions from Mississippi, creating an impressive rice row on the exhibit hall floor.
“For two days we had a steady flow of familiar faces from across four different rice producing states checking in for policy updates, speculating on the weather, and getting outfitted with new rice swag, ” said Emily Woodall, USA Rice senior manager of rice conservation services, who helped staff the USA Rice booth. “This year most discussions involved the recent announcements about the Rice Stewardship Partnership’s Climate-Smart Commodities sign-ups. I’m happy to report that word is out, interest is up, and applications are flowing in.”
Maybe it was the show-stopping rice row, but foot traffic at the USA Rice booth was high, and dialog was plentiful.
“We couldn’t have asked for better participation from the crowd,” said Woodall. “As always, it was a fun, worthwhile experience. We’ll see you next year, Gin Show!”
