ARLINGTON, VA – Cooking classes, popular for many years, have seen a renaissance of late, likely a result of the pandemic lockdowns making people realize a) how much they enjoy cooking, and b) how much they don’t know about cooking. USA Rice’s celebrated celebrity chef and consultant Hari Cameron, fresh off his appearance on “Beat Bobby Flay” and Netflix’s “Snack vs. Chef,” hosted a Rice Cooking Class at his demonstration kitchen in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware (see
USA Rice Daily, July 25, 2024 “Award-Winning Chef Hosts Rice Cooking Class”).
Following the three plus hour class, Chef Hari sat down with podcast co-host Michael Klein to talk about the class, cooking with rice, Hari’s culinary journey, and more. That conversation, along with Michael and co-host Lesley Dixon talking about the perfect hot dog for some reason, is on

“Hari is so passionate about food and using food to bring people together,” said Klein. “I remember him talking about wanting to open a demonstration kitchen for years, and it’s nice to see him succeed, partnering with A Touch of Italy, a respected family restaurant group in Delaware.”
Klein said Cameron first came to USA Rice’s attention in 2017 when the young chef was on a California ag tour sponsored by the walnut industry and that tour’s home base hotel was the same hotel the USA Rice Foodservice Farm & Mill tour was using in 2017. Cameron became fast friends with USA Rice’s own Cameron – Jacobs – now USA Rice vice president of domestic promotion who utilizes Chef Hari as a foodservice consultant and recipe developer.
Chef Hari also participated in the 2019 USA Rice Foodservice Farm & Mill through Mississippi (see
USA Rice Daily, September 25, 2019 “Acclaimed Chefs Tour Mississippi Rice Country”), where he picked up a great deal of knowledge on the U.S. rice industry that he imparts to students, TV show hosts, and anyone within ear shot.
