MEXICO CITY, MEXICO – Last month, marked the launch of the first chef’s cooking course titled "The Art of Cooking Authentic American Rice", organized by USA Rice México at the Centro Universitario Incarnate, Mexico City campus. The course was designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of rice as a versatile staple in the culinary arts, with a focus on its nutritional and gastronomic attributes.

The sessions covered a range of insightful topics, beginning with the nutritional properties of rice, led by sports nutritionist Carmen Ruiz, who highlighted its role as a key ingredient in a balanced diet. Additionally, students explored the varieties of rice, its culinary versatility, and techniques to achieve perfect cooking results.

The practical component of the course was guided by Chef Uriel Ramírez, who showcased diverse recipes that celebrate rice as the centerpiece of innovation in the kitchen. Through hands-on instruction, attendees gained valuable insights into elevating traditional and modern dishes, blending creativity with technique.

This initiative reflects USA Rice México’s commitment to promoting education and culinary excellence while reinforcing the versatility and nutritional value of American rice. Mexico is the United Stated number 1 paddy rice export market. In 2024, nearly 757,000MT of rice was exported valued at $381.7 million.
