Where U.S. rice is a rock star

ARLINGTON, VA – USA Rice continues its partnership with Rock N’ Roll Sushi to highlight the importance of U.S.-grown rice in sushi served to consumers nationwide.  And with more than one hundred restaurants across ten states selling 46,000 pounds of rice each month, that’s a whole lot of U.S. rice to rock n’ roll!

“This ongoing collaboration under USA Rice’s chain engagement program reinforces the central role domestic rice plays in the category, with 95 percent of all sushi consumed within the United States being made with U.S.-grown rice,” said Cameron Jacobs, USA Rice vice president of domestic promotion.

Begun back in 2023, this chain partnership uses digital and social media campaigns to highlight Rock N’ Roll Sushi’s use of U.S. rice.  The promotion has evolved to include e-blasts in consumer newsletters, menu spotlights dedicated to U.S.-grown rice, social posts featuring the Grown in the USA (GITUSA) logo, and looping footage of farms played in RNR restaurants to highlight the U.S.-grown difference.

The program’s messaging emphasizes that U.S. rice is grown on family farms, many of which have been in operation for generations, using conservation-focused farming practices to produce the most sustainably grown rice in the market.

Jacobs said that by continuing to feature U.S.-grown rice, Rock N’ Roll Sushi is connecting consumers with the American farm families behind each grain.

The campaign also focuses on the quality and integrity of U.S. rice, reminding customers that it’s the world’s cleanest, highest-quality, GMO-free rice held to the highest growing, milling, and food safety standards in the world.  This makes it well suited for sushi applications that demand consistency and performance, reinforcing U.S. rice as the trusted choice for sushi operators and consumers alike.

“Rock N’ Roll Sushi continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to showcasing the U.S.-grown difference while making sushi accessible to everyday consumers,” said Jacobs.  “USA Rice appreciates our ongoing partnership and we look forward to continuing our work together in promotion of high-quality U.S. rice in 2026.”
