USA Rice extends condolences to the family and friends of William Winston Faulk, who passed away unexpectedly on August 2, at the age of 54.
Bill was a rice and crawfish farmer for more than three decades as well as a lifelong cattleman who raised a herd of Brahman. Cooking was a strong passion of Bill’s, and his family enjoyed some of the best home-cooked meals they could imagine as a result. Additionally, Bill’s home was filled with treasures from the times he spent rummaging through any antique store he spotted.
Alan Lawson, a rice farmer in Acadia Parish and family friend said, “Anyone involved in the rice industry around Crowley knew of the Faulk family. They are the quintessential rice farming family; multi- generational, efficient, hardworking, very good at what they do. They are rice farmers in every sense of the word. Bill will be missed by everyone, but I know his son will continue on with the Faulk rice farming legacy alongside the rest of the family.”
Bill is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kristi Smith Faulk of Crowley; three children, Winston Michael Faulk, JD of Youngsville, Anne Francis Faulk, MD of Charlotte, NC, and Allen Morris Faulk of Crowley; his mother, Delores Walton McKellar of Crowley; three brothers, Tommy, Jeff, and Mike; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
His family would like to thank the Ochsner Acadia General Emergency Department staff and the ICU staff at Our Lady of Lourdes for their compassionate care at the end of his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation will be this Tuesday from 6-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8-10:00 a.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5.
