ARLINGTON, VA – The annual National Rice Month (NRM) Scholarship video contest, sponsored by the American Commodity Company (ACC) is here! Graduating high school students from Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Texas are challenged to shine a light on our favorite home-grown grain through a short video-three minutes or less-that tells us why rice is special to you, to your state, or to the world.

It’s easy to participate! Be sure to check out ReelRiceContest.com as it has lots of information including tips on how to make a great video. (And please be sure to only use U.S. rice in your video.)

The grand-prize winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship and a trip with a chaperone to the annual USA Rice Outlook Conference this December in Nashville, the second-place winner receives a $3,000 scholarship, and third place receives $2,000, all courtesy of American Commodity Company.

"We're calling all the budding directors and content creators in rice states to help spread the word about U.S.-grown rice,” said USA Rice Vice President of Communications & Strategic Development Michael Klein. “We want you to entertain us, teach us something, and have fun doing it!”

Entries are judged on creativity, quality, and effectiveness in telling a story about U.S.-grown rice and are due by October 31.
