  • USA Rice Attends 2015 Arkansas RiceTec Field Day & Ag Council of Arkansas

    USA Rice staff traveled to Arkansas this week to participate in rice industry meetings in eastern Arkansas. USA Rice Government Affairs Vice President Ben Mosely attended both meetings and gave updates on USA Rice’s work on key industry issues, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), market access to China, Waters of the United States (WOTUS), and recent tenders in Iraq. Mosely also talked about USA Rice efforts to educate newly elected members of Congress about issues important to the U.S. rice industry.

  • USA Rice Briefs Grand Prairie Region Rice Farmers on Export Opportunities and Challenges

Nearly ninety local rice farmers attended the event to hear about the opportunities and challenges in moving rice to the key nearby markets of Mexico, Cuba, Central America, and Colombia.

  • MyPlate Video Search is a Success

    ARLINGTON, VA – Last week marked the end of the two-month Check Out MyPlate Video Search for kids, a MyPlate promotional activity launched by USA Rice and six other MyPlate National Strategic Partners to reach children and parents with healthy eating messages. The video search received more than 10,000 unique visitors and generated more than 100 video entries from kids across the country.

The Arkansas Rice Council worked with the Department of Finance and Administration to develop the specialty license plate to promote rice, Arkansas's second highest value commodity and top agricultural export.

  • Arkansas Governor Calls for End to U.S. Cuba Embargo

    LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Yesterday, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson signed House Joint Resolution 1006, calling on the U.S. government to lift its trade embargo on Cuba and open the market to American rice and other commodities.
