    A Vermont law, passed two years ago, requires all genetically engineered food sold in the state to be labeled by July 1, 2016. Last week, Congress failed to pass a measure that would have created a voluntary national standard for labeling — and also would have preempted Vermont's law.

  • Fareway Dietitians Think Rice for “CentsAble” Health

    From February through April, USA Rice is partnering with retail dietitians at Fareway, a Midwest grocery chain with more than 100 stores in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, and Nebraska, to inform shoppers of the many benefits of U.S.-grown rice. The three month promotion kicked-off in February with a U.S. rice feature in the store magazine and also includes website and social media placements.

  • USA Rice Encourages Kids to ‘Wake Up’ to School Breakfast

  • USA Rice Champions Birth Defects Prevention

    Yesterday USA Rice joined with more than 60 groups in observing World Birth Defects Day to let consumers know about the importance of folic acid in preventing birth defects and about rice as a source of folic acid. USA Rice used social media posts and the hashtag #WorldBDDay to help spread the word about the importance of folic acid for moms-to-be and that one-cup of enriched white rice delivers 80 of the recommended 400 micrograms of folic acid, which is 20 percent of the Daily Value.
