• Enhanced Coordination Between USDA and FDA Could Improve Food Safety, Efficient Oversight

    The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have entered into a formal agreement to make food oversight more efficient and effective, according to an announcement by the two agencies yesterday. The agreement aims to increase interagency collaboration, streamline inspection responsibilities, eliminate inefficiencies, and improve regulatory clarity and transparency in agriculture and food-processing industries.

  • USDA Releases Farm Bill & Legislative Principles

    Today, Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue unveiled the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Bill & Legislative Principles for Congress to consider as they craft the Farm Bill and other legislation impacting rural America. The principles cover a wide array of USDA’s mission areas, including farm production and conservation, trade and foreign agricultural affairs, marketing and regulatory programs, food safety and inspection services, and rural development.
