Special Events

We are excited to offer a few special events for registered attendees and guests.  Advance payment is required to reserve a spot.  Onsite registration for events will be subject to availability.  An event may be cancelled if the minimum participant sign-up is not met.
Guest Event Cancellations and Refund Policy:  Guest event spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  The guest event may be cancelled if minimum sign-up is not met.  Refunds will be issued if event is cancelled by USA Rice and/or if space fills up.  Cancellation refund requests must be submitted in writing.  A full refund will be made for cancellations received through Nov. 19, 2021.  No refunds will be made after that date.

Annual Awards Luncheon

A highlight of every USA Rice Outlook Conference is the annual Awards Luncheon.  It’s an exciting event where attendees gather to recognize and reward their peers for accomplishments in service to the industry.  The luncheon includes a salad, entrée, dessert, tea, and coffee.

Mardi Gras World Float Tour & Mask Making

Date:   Monday, December 6, 2021
Time:   2:00 to 5:30 p.m. (meet in hotel lobby at 1:45 p.m.)
Cost:   $125
Minimum Participants: 30

  • Supplies to make your own Mardi Gras mask

The workshop begins with a guided tour where participants will learn about the float building process, as well as, the history and significance of Mardi Gras in New Orleans.  

Artists work all year round to build the spectacular floats and props that bring Mardi Gras to life.  Each year there are over 500 floats built and decorated by these talented artists.  This entire experience let’s your guests get up close and personal to the floats that will be parading down the streets during the upcoming carnival season.  This truly is the place where Mardi Gras in made!

The Mask making activity is both enjoyable and rewarding.  After learning a brief history about masking in New Orleans, participants will get to make their very own one-of-a-kind creation.

Creole Cooking – A Louisiana Cooking Demonstration

Experience the fun, food, and the folklore of New Orleans right in the heart of the French Quarter!

Ever wonder what the secret ingredients are to a delicious Jambalaya or how to make the perfect Etouffee?  Wait no more!  You will have a private demonstration at renowned New Orleans School of Cooking.  You will watch as an expert Creole and Cajun chef demonstrates the natives’ secrets in a three-hour private demonstration class.  Some of the specialties are:  Jambalaya, Crawfish Pies, Etouffee, and File’ Gumbo, just to name a few.

Besides all the herbs and spices, fun is a primary ingredient in a Louisiana kitchen as experts season guests with history, trivia, and tall tales.  It’s a guaranteed good time for all.
