Representing Rough and Seed Rice Merchandisers and Associates

Founded in 2005, the USA Rice Merchants’ Association is the first organization to bring rice merchandisers and related businesses together in a representative, recognized body.  Merchants are an important component of the U.S. rice industry, providing a market outlet for thousands of farmers in all six rice-producing states.

Membership

There are currently 25 merchant members and 6 associate members.

Eligible Merchant Members

A proprietor, partnership or corporation actively engaged in the storage, purchase, sale and/or hedging of rough and/or seed rice and which takes title to the rice. 

Merchant Associate Members
Benefits
Associate Members receive the USA Rice Daily, listing in USA Rice's online Associated Services directory, meetings and educational program information, as well as affiliation with the USA Rice Federation.

Eligible Merchant Associate Members
A proprietor, partnership or corporation which does not qualify as a Merchant Member because its activities are not sufficiently or actively related to the storage and marketing of rough rice is eligible for associate membership.

Board of Directors

  • Board members are elected from amongst the merchant members of the association.
  • Board meetings are held in conjunction with USA Rice Federation annual meetings.
