LITTLE ROCK, AR – Mary Sanders has joined the USA Rice team as a grant accounting coordinator. In this role, she will be providing budget management, operational assistance, and general support to the Rice Stewardship Partnership’s (RSP) ongoing grant programs and other USA Rice programming.
Mary is from Newport, Arkansas, and worked full-time at Poinsett Rice & Grain for the past year and a half, where she was focused primarily on rice barge operations. In this role, she was involved in the coordination and movement of rice, gaining practical insight into grain logistics and transportation within the industry. She is also a student at Arkansas State University, where she will be finishing her degree in agricultural business this spring
“Balancing full-time employment with her academic studies, Mary has built a strong foundation in the operational aspects of agriculture,” said Josh Hankins. “Her experience at Poinsett Rice & Grain has given her firsthand exposure to the rice supply chain, and that perspective will be a valuable asset as she supports the RSP and broader USA Rice programs.”
Outside of her professional and academic pursuits, Mary enjoys playing golf and spending time outdoors with her dogs, Georgia and Gunner, and her cattle.
