MEXICO CITY, MEXICO – Last week USA Rice participated for the second time in the annual Expo Gastronómica trade show here. This specialized event focuses on the hotel, restaurant, catering, and foodservice sectors, providing an excellent platform for USA Rice to showcase its brands featuring the Arroz Americano Auténtico logo and educate foodservice professionals about the intricacies of the Mexican rice market.
The USA Rice booth highlighted renowned brands such as La Merced, Placeres del Campo, SOS, Schettino, Campo Dorado, Patrón, and Vereda with which USA Rice is conducting joint promotions. Representatives from these partner companies were onhand throughout the expo, engaging with attendees, imparting information, and distributing rice samples. The inclusion of prominent entities like Schettino, La Merced, El Bajo, and Granos Patron further amplified the prominence and influence of USA Rice's presence at the trade show.
“We hosted lively cooking demonstrations conducted by Chef Giuseppe de Pasquale who emphasized the versatility of rice and its diverse culinary applications,” said Asiha Grigsby, USA Rice director of international promotion for the Western Hemisphere. “Nutritionist Guadalupe Esquivel also helped staff the booth, sharing expert nutritional tips and information, underscoring the nutritional value of rice.”
USA Rice also sponsored three chef contests, ensuring prominent brand visibility through captivating graphics, mentions, and videos. Contest winners were rewarded with prizes including a USA Rice recipe cookbook.
The designated Cooking Show arena provided a prime platform for exhibitors to showcase products and USA Rice took full advantage of this opportunity by hosting daily cooking demonstrations. Chefs de Pasquale and Aquiles Chávez were popular performers, attracting more than 60 participants to each rice recipe class.
“Expo Gastronómica 2023 was an ideal venue to promote USA Rice and give the more than 10,000 attendees a deeper understanding of the intricate dynamics of the Mexican rice market,” said Grigsby. “Through strategic engagement, captivating culinary demonstrations, and active involvement in contests and cooking shows, USA Rice strengthened our commitment to the Mexican market, cementing our position as a key player in the industry there.”
