ARLINGTON, VA – Nearly 50 USA Rice members and staff joined a webinar last week titled, “Export 101: Plan, Develop, Execute,” hosted in collaboration with Goldencrest Global. This session served as a follow-up to the Export 101 breakout session featured during the 2024 Outlook Conference last December in Little Rock, Arkansas. Victoria Nwasike, CEO & president of Goldencrest, led the webinar which offered an in-depth introduction to building a successful export plan – an essential tool for any company looking to expand its international footprint.
Participants were guided through the core components of an effective export strategy, beginning with a company and industry analysis to assess readiness and opportunities. From there, the discussion moved to identifying products with strong export potential, aligning offerings with global trends, and pinpointing the most accessible international markets.
The webinar also covered critical steps such as evaluating expansion needs and setting realistic, export-focused goals. Designed to equip rice industry professionals with practical tools and knowledge, the session emphasized strategic planning to increase the likelihood of export success.
“This webinar was a valuable resource for anyone considering or expanding international trade as Victoria helped shine a light on common pitfalls that new exporters may encounter when they start exporting products,” said Asiha Grigsby, USA Rice senior director, international promotion for the Western Hemisphere. “Our partnership with Goldencrest Global helped deliver actionable insights for our members looking to compete in global markets.”
This webinar came to fruition after discussions with several USA Rice members who indicated interest in expanding their exports but had limited knowledge of the necessary steps to be successful. Participants came away with a better understanding of how to position their businesses for global growth – reinforcing the importance of preparation, market research, and goal setting in navigating the export landscape.
