ARLINGTON, VA -- USA Rice recently welcomed three new members.  Brookshire Drying Company has joined the USA Rice Merchants Association, and Sigma Exports and Western Foods have joined USA Rice Millers’ Association as Associate Members.

Brookshire Drying Company is a rice drying and storage facility west of Houston, Texas, offering export to Mexico via rail.  Sigma Exports, headquartered in Gainesville, Virginia, was founded in 2015 to facilitate trade between Iraq and the United States.  Western Foods is located in Woodland, California, in the heart of the California rice growing region, where their state-of-the-art flour mill combines the latest technology with expertise and experience in grain milling, blending, packaging, and processing.

“The addition of these three diverse companies to our membership allows USA Rice to better understand the many facets of our industry,” said USA Rice Chairman Charley Mathews, Jr.  “We are happy to have each of them join USA Rice and look forward to what their specific expertise can offer.”

USA Rice invites producer, mill, merchant, and industry partners who support the rice industry and the mission and goals of the organization to become full members.  Benefits of membership range from communications to educational conferences to providing strategic direction to USA Rice through participation on boards and committees.
