ARLINGTON, VA – Airokhsh Faiz Qaisary has joined the USA Rice team as the manager of Compliance & Grants Administration. In this role, Airokhsh will be overseeing financial and program compliance for the grants that USA Rice receives such as those from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service (USDA/FAS).

She has more than a decade of experience managing multi-million dollar grant programs in Afghanistan and the U.S funded by a variety of Federal agencies.

Born in Afghanistan, she originally came to the United States as a high school exchange student. She has an undergraduate degree in international politics from Juniata College and a master’s degree from Tufts University in law and diplomacy.

She is the founder of Eidana, a volunteer-based charity project in Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan, that distributes food and school supplies to local children who are the sole breadwinners for their families. The success of this endeavor has become a model for similar programs throughout Afghanistan.  In her free time, Airokhsh volunteers to help furnish homes for refugee families who have recently arrived in the U.S., as well as teaching refugee women how to drive.
