LUBBOCK, TX – Yesterday, Texans across the 19th District voted overwhelmingly to advance Tom Sell to the General Election in November where he will face Democrat Kyle Rable.

Sell launched his campaign last November (see USA Rice Daily, November 14, 2025), immediately following an announcement by House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington that he would not seek reelection in 2026.

“We congratulate our longtime friend and advocate Tom on his decisive win in yesterday’s runoff,” said USA Rice President & CEO Peter Bachmann.  “While his battle won’t be over until November, we’re confident that in just over 6 months he’ll be the sharpest ag policy Member in the 120th U.S. Congress and an eager freshman on the House Committee on Agriculture.”

According to Cook Political Report, TX-19 is the ninth most Republican district nationally.
