Market Overview

Haitians prefer to eat rice on a daily basis, consuming about 115 lbs annually per capita.  The Haitian economy has suffered greatly and struggled to recover since a devastating earthquake in 2010, resulting in political turmoil.  Rice has become an important staple in the Haitian diet, and Haiti is now the top market for U.S. milled rice with exports generally around $200 million per year.

USA Rice Activities

USA Rice has sponsored local soccer teams, TV shows utilizing local Haitian chefs cooking rice dishes, and an auto car rally which traveled throughout the country. Social media and media campaigns continue to be popular as well.
