CHICAGO, IL – Last week, more than 53,000 foodservice professionals from around the world gathered here to test drive new technology, tastes, and trends, and to learn, connect, and unite as the industry tackles rising costs, supply chain hurdles, workforce challenges, evolving guest expectations, and more at the 2025 National Restaurant Association (NRA) Show.  Roaming amongst them on the more than 12 football fields of exhibits and stages were USA Rice’s Michael Klein and Morgan Crafton.

“It was my first time at the show,” said Crafton, USA Rice coordinator of domestic promotion, “so I was taking it all in, meeting members and current and potential U.S. rice industry customers.  In addition to some interesting education sessions, learning about new trends was eye-opening.”

Those trends and more are discussed on the newest episode of The Rice Stuff, when Klein sat down with Katie Maher, USA Rice director of strategic initiatives, who has attended past NRAs and had a lot to say about emerging food trends.

Klein plays his interview with Blaine Stewart of Heritage Rice Company, who was also at NRA for the first time.

All that plus Dirty Soda, The Hot Ones, cheezburgas cheezburgas, and more.

New episodes of The Rice Stuff are published on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month and can be found on your favorite podcast services or www.TheRiceStuffPodcast.com.
